What is the Guild?

In 2007 a group of interested people met to discuss the future needs of Carnegie Hall as it begins its second century. The Carnegie Hall Guild was formed. Taking its name from the medieval word guild (meaning an association of people for mutual aid or a common purpose), this new organization's purpose is to promote interest in Carnegie Hall and to address special needs and occasions not covered by the Carnegie Hall budget or volunteers.

In May of 2007 the Carnegie Hall, Inc. Board of Directors
voted to sponsor the Guild. The  first Guild meeting on
September 12, 2007 was an introductory reception on the
Ivy Terrace at Carnegie Hall. The Guild ended its first year
with 72 “charter” members.
